Sangria Done Right
We thought we'd publish a recipe for Sangria before summer is officially over, since many of us generally associate this yummy wine-based cocktail with warmer weather.
We also want to share some good news for Sangria lovers: it's not just for summer sipping any more! :)
One of the great things about Sangria is that it's a deliciously versatile potable, which compliments such a wide variety of international cuisines that it can be enjoyed year round; like while snuggling around a crackling fire with your favorite tapas & finger foods or enjoying a special meal at your festive winter dinner table .
Preparation Time: 30 minutes / 6 servings
1/2 cup brandy
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/3 cup frozen lemonade concentrate
1/3 cup orange juice
1 (750 milliliter) bottle dry red wine
1/2 cup triple sec
1 lemon, sliced into rounds
1 orange, sliced into rounds
1 lime, sliced into rounds
1/4 cup sugar (optional)
8 maraschino cherries (or berries of your choice)
2 cups carbonated water (optional)
In a large pitcher or bowl, mix together the brandy, lemon juice, lemonade concentrate, orange juice, red wine, triple sec and sugar. Float slices of lemon, orange and lime, and maraschino cherries (or berries) in the mixture.
For a fizzy sangria, add club soda just before serving.
Refrigerate overnight for best flavor.
